Fix shared iCloud Reminders lists not appearing

I encountered a particularly annoying bug: I couldn’t access a shared Reminders list!

After going to the iCloud website, I noticed that the list had been shared to my account—it just wasn’t showing up in the app; and any new lists I tried to create were local lists, not linked to my iCloud account. I could tell (in hindsight) because the dialog wasn’t showing me options like creating smart lists, which apparently aren’t available on-device.

The fix that worked for me, as per usual, was turning it (iCloud sync for Reminders) off and on again.

Go to iCloud, and under “Apps using iCloud”, disable Reminders. This will stop the Reminders app syncing with your iCloud Reminders.

Then, open Reminders. It should prompt you to re-enable iCloud sync; follow that prompt. (If it doesn’t prompt you, enable syncing Reminders anyway.)

After I did the above, I could access the list that had been previously shared.
